Yepp! The consultation is truly 100% free. At the consultation we will discuss the problems your dog is having and how I can best help you. I will also evaluate your dog. Give Wild Woof K9 a call to schedule today!

I already know which package I would like to book. Do I need a consultation?

I'm glad to hear it! If you are quite certain which lesson package is right for you, we may be able to book after a phone consultation. Give Wild Woof K9 a call and I'll get you taken care of!

Which of your services is right for me?

If you are unsure which program is best for you and your dog, we can discuss this at your free consultation! I will help you choose what works best for you and your dog to reach your training goals.

Is my pet too old to be trained?

Never! Old dogs CAN learn new tricks, too.

What is your approach to training?

I use balanced training methods! Simply put, this means I reward the good behaviors we want more of, and correct the bad behaviors we want less of to give your dog the most clear communication.

I use a wide variety of training tools from a flat collar and leash to an e-collar because no two dogs are the same and they need different forms of communication and styles of training. I don't want to limit what a dog can achieve by sticking with a limited tool bag!

I stress the importance of building a bond and building engagement with your dog! Training should be FUN for both you and your dog! A stronger bond means better engagement and that means better, more effective training.

Lastly, it is vital to remember how important physical and mental exercise is for our dogs and how it impacts behavior and training. I aim to include both in my programs.

What is an e-collar? Which one do you use? Can I use a different one? Do I have to use one at all?

"E-collar," or electronic collar, is often used interchangeably with "shock collar." However, they are actually NOT the same.

Old school shock collars are rather out of date and did quite literally shock the dog. E-collars use the same technology as a tens unit a physical therapist uses on a human for muscle stimulation! It is much safer for your dog and does not harm them. I encourage all pet owners to feel the stimulation themselves. The low levels of stimulation most dogs work at is actually so low most humans can barely feel it or can't even feel it at all!

Wild Woof K9 uses E-Collar Technologies ET 300 Mini Educator collar. This is the collar that will come with board and train packages or if purchased with lesson packages. If you are interested in a different e-collar from E-Collar Technologies, please ask me about purchasing a different collar through Wild Woof K9. If you already own an e-collar you are welcome to use it for lesson packages if you so choose.

Off leash work requires an e-collar to be used for safety purposes.

What discounts do you offer?

Puppies who complete the Wild Woof puppy preschool private lessons or puppy board and train receive discounts on future training.

Dogs who complete Wild Woof's basic obedience private lessons package receive a discount on advanced obedience private lessons.

Veterans and active military receive a discount.

What is an "implied stay?"

This means when you tell your dog to sit or down, they do so and don't get up until told they can. The stay is implied when you say those commands.

What is luring and/or markers?

Luring means to quite literally lure your dog, typically using food or treats, to get them to do what you want!

Markers are used to target a behavior (or mark them). Examples of markers are clicker training or verbal markers such as "yes," "good," and "no."

What tools are available for purchase through Wild Woof K9?

I sell e-collars from E-Collar Technologies, Herm Sprenger prong collars, and slip leads.

If you are interested in another item, you are welcome to enquire about obtaining it through Wild Woof and I will see what I can do!

I want to support Wild Woof K9! Do you sell merchandise?

Wild Woof K9 t-shirts, sweat shirts, tank tops, and tote bags are available, currently upon request. Please reach out and I can place an order for you! Thank you for supporting my business!

Do I receive updates while my dog is completing a board and train with you?

Absolutely! Owners will receive photos and videos of their pup's progress. You are also encouraged to follow Wild Woof K9 on Instagram to see training updates there.

Can I visit my dog while they complete a board and train?

I completely understand being separated from our pets is hard! Unfortunately, visits from owners can hinder a dog's training progress. You are unable to visit your dog in person during their board and train.

What areas do you service?

Wild Woof K9 is based in Wake Forest, North Carolina. I serve Wake Forest, Raleigh, Cary, Chapel Hill, Durham, Oxford, Franklinton, Youngsville, Garner, Rolesville, Grissom, Louisburg, Creedmoor, and other surrounding towns. Please ask if you are unsure if I train in your area.

What is your refund policy?

Lesson package fees and board and train fees are due prior to the start of training.

Wild Woof K9, however, understands life can get in the way sometimes. If you have purchased a lesson package and find yourself unable to complete the remainder of your package, you may be prorated a refund for the uncompleted lessons, at the sole discretion of Wild Woof K9.

Refunds will not be given for completed training as the outcome of your dog's training is largely dependent on your commitment level.
